BRYAN STUMPF
Born and raised in Cape Vincent, a small Upstate NY town, near the shore of the St. Lawrence River, Bryan was a Thousand Islands High School Viking, graduating with the Class of 1993. He graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with an English Literature degree, and before going to graduate school, he spent a year working for a Syracuse, NY utility contractor, working as a dock hand at an Oswego, NY marina, and writing for local newspapers. After earning a graduate degree at Michigan State, he taught writing, literature, and film studies at Highline College in Seattle, and also taught briefly at a Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China.
After five years in Seattle, he returned to his home state to work in the renewable energy industry and earn an MBA from Syracuse University. After five years in renewable energy, he was laid off, and finally found time to take the plunge into screenwriting and filmmaking. After earning awards for his short films and screenplays, he was hired by 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles, to work as a digital media specialist. After two successful years in LA, selling and optioning screenplays, he moved back to Upstate NY to start up his own production company, Stumpf Farm Productions, based in Cape Vincent.
Bryan remains actively involved in Stumpf Farm Productions, as its primary screenwriter, producer, director.
